SUN...without it we could not exist...
In an effort to move forward to a more sustainable approach, the implementation of passive design standards must be included in the design process. Lighting inside the new proposed transportation hub in Fort Worth, Texas has been
inspired by the city’s train stations and will be designed to create a positive experience for the end user promoting natural light. Careful consideration has been noted on the building’s orientation to ensure the efficiency of sunlight.
In order to achieve this goal, solar geometry has been analyzed to minimize direct sunlight during the summer months and maximize it during the winter months. The best method to incorporate sunlight into the interior is to place clerestory
windows and a rooftop aperture, or oculus. This effect will create an uplifting and energizing environment that will evoke feelings of relaxation and ease. Visual comfort is considered for all users allowing them to connect with an important element of nature...SUNLIGHT
